Mainliner is designed to handle the oil-laden mists used to lubricate pneumatic tools. It features a medium oil resistant tube with a multi-spiral polyester reinforcement that keeps the hose flexible even in extreme temperatures. The cover resists abrasion, cracking, weathering and ozone. Constant working pressures of 200, 250 and 300 psi make Mainliner the quality choice for a general service hose. It is not recommended for handling fuels.
GP (General Purpose) is a high quality hose designed to handle the tough applications in the mining, steel and petroleum industries. It features a NBR blend tube with a multi-spiral polyester reinforcement that adds strength and keeps it flexible. The CR, medium oil resistant cover resists crushing, cracking, abrasion and weather. Flex-Loc is the state-of-the-art in push-on hose. It allows fittings to be pushed into place quickly and easily. No crimping tools are needed. Flex-Loc has excellent coupling retention. The superior holding ability is created by a unique spiral yarn design that grips from the inside. Fittings will not give even under full working pressure. The NBR blend tube with a four spiral polyester reinforcement provides superior flexibility and kink-resistance. The CR cover is resistant to oil, aging and wear. Flex-Loc is available with a 250 psi working pressure and can be depended upon for smooth, safe performance in the most harsh, oily, demanding applications.
Versicon is a premium hose designed for the tough usage in shipyards, foundries and construction premises. The NBR tube will convey oil, fuel oil and other petroleum derived products, and the four spiral reinforcement provides strength and flexibility even in extreme conditions. The synthetic cover resists abrasion, cracking and ozone as well as oil and solvents. It meets the Alco spec for conductivity, which makes it ideal for the aluminum reduction industry as well as other applications where a high degree of electrical non-conductivity is required. Versicon has a constant working pressure to 300 psi through the 1" sizes and is virtually kink-proof and crush-proof.
Penflex corrugated hose is a high quality general purpose industrial hose. It is produced in carbon steel, bronze, stainless steel (types 304L, 316L and 321), monel, titanium and many others. The corrugated hose is manufactured from a cylindrical, thin walled tube formed from rolled strip and joined at the seam by butt welding. Impressed into this tube is a corrugated annular profile. Annular corrugated hose has several advantages over helical hose. It is not subject to damaging torsional stress due to longitudinal expansion resulting from pressure rises. When the corrugations are closely spaced, the hose is referred to as "standard pitch" hose. When the corrugations are more widely spaced, the hose is referred to as "open pitch" hose. All information in this section is relevant to standard pitch, annular corrugated hose. Data on open pitch hose is available upon request.
The thickness of the metal strip, the height of the corrugations and the number of corrugations per foot all affect the performance characteristics of metal hose. Flexibility in corrugated hose
is the result of the bending of the metal corrugations. Service life varies depending upon the severity of the flexing, the temperature, corrosive conditions, pressure and vibration to which the hose is subjected.
Unless restrained, corrugated hose will elongate when subjected to increasing internal pressure. This restraint is provided by a braided covering, consisting of a tubular sheath of woven metal wires fitted tightly over the corrugated hose and secured at each end. Flexibility of the corrugated hose is not appreciably affected by this wire braid covering. In addition, the braid provides squirm support and dampens vibration. In higher pressure applications, the use of additional braid covers will provide additional working pressure. Unbraided hose is satisfactory for vacuum and low pressure applications.
Corrugated hose is recommended for applications involving permanent bends, and in situations where flexing is predictable, that is, machine controlled. Also, whenever absolute leak prevention is essential, corrugated hose should be selected.
